Takoma Walk

In an exciting redevelopment planned for Takoma Park, ICG Properties worked extensively with community groups for input in devising final plans for a 71-unit mixed-use property in the Old Town neighborhood. The 80,000-square-foot development was designed to include the rehabilitation of the property's historic attributes, two-story live/work units fronting Westmoreland Avenue, individual "mews" residences fronting the Westmoreland neighborhood, and retail space along Carroll Avenue.

Cunningham + Quill Architects designed the project, which involves the conversion of several existing storefronts along Westmoreland Avenue. An underground parking garage will also be added for residents and retail parking. In addition to community groups, ICG coordinated its efforts with the Takoma Park City Council, the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission, and the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission. Takoma Walk is anticipated to be a catalyst for additional revitalization within the community's Old Town area.

ICG sold its interest to its minority partner Keystar LLC in 2006.
